Official: Metropolitano Stadium to Host 2027 UEFA Champions League Final

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has officially announced that the Metropolitano Stadium in the Spanish capital Madrid will be the venue for the UEFA Champions League final for the 2026-2027 season. The Spanish stadium returns to the spotlight after eight years since hosting the 2019 final.

UEFA had previously confirmed that the 2026 UEFA Champions League final will take place on May 30 at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, in an anticipated football evening that brings together the elite clubs of the old continent in one of the biggest matches of the season.

The selection of Metropolitano is a testament to its status as one of Europe’s most prominent stadiums. It boasts a capacity of over 68,000 spectators, along with its modern design and facilities equipped with the latest technologies, providing an ideal experience for both fans and players alike.

The stadium previously hosted the 2019 Champions League final, which saw Liverpool claim their sixth title in history at the expense of Tottenham, cementing its place in the memory of European football fans.

The event is expected to be a special opportunity for Atlético Madrid fans, who will experience the atmosphere of the continental final on their home turf, with hopes that their team might be a part of the final match, potentially making it a historic night for them.
