End of Speculation about Al-Ammar’s Future after Refusing to Leave Al-Ahli

Media reports revealed that the left-back of Al-Ahli, Abdullah Al-Ammar, has decided his stance on leaving during the summer transfer window, which officially ended on September 10th, after insisting on staying with “Al-Raqi” and rejecting all offers he received.

Al-Ammar, 31 years old, had joined Al-Ahli in the summer of the 2023/2024 season from Damac club, in a move aimed at strengthening the left flank with the experience of the player who has a good record in the Saudi Professional League.

Since his transfer, he has worn the green shirt in 35 matches across various competitions, scoring one goal. In the past season, he participated in only 16 matches, receiving a yellow card during 701 minutes of play, without managing to score or assist any goals.

Despite his limited participation last season, the player expressed a clear desire to continue with Al-Raqi, preferring to compete for his position within the team over the option of moving to other clubs. This stance reflects his confidence in his abilities and belief in his chance to regain his starting position under the leadership of the new coaching staff.

Al-Ammar’s insistence on staying comes at a time when Al-Raqi continues its efforts to strengthen its ranks with strong elements capable of competing for championships, especially after returning to the Professional League with a desire to perform at a distinguished level befitting the club’s history.

The Al-Raqi management, for its part, did not show any objection to the player’s decision, especially since he is still bound by an official contract with the club, which gives him stability and the ability to focus on the field away from the speculations that accompanied his departure file.

Al-Ammar is expected to continue his preparations with his teammates in the coming period, as the coaching staff looks to benefit from his experience as a seasoned left-back player, both in local and continental competitions.

Thus, the debate about the player’s future is closed for now, keeping his focus on giving his best in Al-Ahli’s shirt, and trying to regain the level he showed with Damac before moving to “Al-Raqi”.
