Spanish defender Aymeric Laporte sent a heartfelt farewell message to Al-Nassr fans, announcing the end of his journey with the team after representing them since his transfer from Manchester City in the summer of 2023.
Laporte said through his official social media accounts: “Dear Al-Nassr fans, my time at this great club has come to an end.”
The Spanish defender continued: “I’m grateful for this experience full of memories and growth, and proud to have been part of the Saudi Pro League’s rise on the world stage.”
Laporte added: “It’s been an honor to share the pitch with many of the best players. I wish the club all the best for the future.”
Laporte had recently joined Athletic Bilbao in Spain, before facing an administrative crisis when FIFA initially refused to register him, which sparked controversy before the situation was resolved.
Laporte joined Al-Nassr in the summer of 2023 from Manchester City, and contributed to leading the defense line during a season full of local and continental competitions, before deciding to embark on a new experience in the Spanish La Liga.
